VALENTINE’S DAY

Love is in the air for Spring / Summer 2023, as German luxury fashion house MCM
‘wears its heart on its bag’, introducing a Valentine’s Day upcycled assortment for the first time. From graffiti-inspired aesthetics to playful prints with an attitude, ‘Love from MCM’ becomes the mantra of the season.



Fusing sentiment with design and material with emotion, the hand-painted graphics depict light-hearted heart-shaped MCM lettering painted over the facade of its iconic monogram, presenting lovestruck interpretation of the logo. The capsule reminds consumers that love is a voyage which flows across several forms – whether it’s the affinity for a friend, the bond between besties, compassion for strangers, a romantic spark or even a labor of love, and presents journeys from past to future as well as new to old and back to new again.



The capsule conceptualizes this paradigm through the process of upcycling, featuring an assortment of bestsellers from the brand’s heritage collection, highlighting Aren Crescent Hobo and Boston Bag as thesignature silhouettes of the Valentine’s Day season. Complementing the upcycling capsule is the Stark Backpack and München Tote in Blossom Pink ranging from medium to extra mini sizes.



The Valentine’s Day Upcycling Project is the next in a series of limited edition drops which capture the essence of the brand’s DNA of creativity and the arts. The Project introduces handpicked items from the brand’s excess inventory whose lifecycles are extended through an artisanal redesign process across hand-painted graphics and patterns, opening new product loops to reduce the brand’s environmental impact.
